The Cedar Elm (Ulmus Crassifolia) can reach 90 feet, and it is the only native Texas elm that flowers and sets seed in the fall. It has glossy green leaves that weep slightly.
It does well in heavy, poorly drained clay soils. The Cedar Elm is drought and wind resistant which make it a favorite in South Texas.
